Can anyone recomend some good anime?

Hi I've just started getting into anime, ive seen final fantasy advent children and loved it, i liked apple seed and love love love elfen lied, I prefer the CGI stuff, and i'll only watch it if there's some cool girl chararcter or a love story (or both). . . . i am a girl after all! any suggestions??? (not ghost in the shell - bit too weird for me)
