with the engaged couple, it is a gross sin. with the married couple, there was an article on it a couple months or years back. if i remember correctly, it is a gross sin. i'm not too sure. if it isn't that, some people who were pioneers couldn't engage in it. something along those lines, go on the official website and check it out.
