Can anyone please give me some advice?!?

Okay. So tonight is our Sadie Hawkins Dance at my school. I asked my ex to go with me, but when I did ask him we were still dating. We are really good friends still, just the whole relationship thing wasnt gonna work out. But my thing is, I usually didnt have a date for the other dances, and the last time I did it was so awkward and we ended up leaving early. So I guess what Im asking is for tips so it wont be awkward, cuz I love to dance but I just have a bad feeling that dancing with this guy is gonna be weird. I need some tips.
