Do search engines show the actual alt text in alt image tags, in search displays?

In my keyword yzer, it shows a keyword phrase that gets searched quite a few times which returns 0 search results because they key phrase has a typo in it "coampies" instead of companies. I want to use this keyword in an image alt tag. Think it would be good idea, or bad even when they hover over the picture and see a typo lol?
